High-level Opening Session: The Rio Conventions – Restoring balance with nature for a sustainable future

At COP 26, the Rio Conventions join forces in a series of events showcasing the multifaceted solutions at hand to slow drivers and pressures pushing planetary boundaries and restore balance with nature.

At this kickoff event, high level representatives from the COP Presidencies of the Conventions (China, India, and the United Kingdom), together with the Secretariats of the three Conventions, outline their ambitions and expectations about how the actions of the three conventions, and all stakeholders, create incredible opportunities to build a truly resilient path forward to restore the balance between human demands and nature’s supply.
